Hello, ladies!! Hope you are enjoying your summer! I just returned from my vacation in Jamaica. It inspired me to write this post because I looooove traveling to the Caribbean. I have traveled to Dominica, St.Kitts, and St. Martin, just to name a few islands. There is nothing more beautiful than the Caribbean Sea. Clear blue waters, crystal clear skies, and bright sunshine. What is even more exciting when traveling to one of these islands is shopping and putting together outfits for the trip!

I am sharing some of my outfits that I wore in Jamaica and here are some tips on what to wear on a Caribbean vacation. Hopefully, this post will inspire you for your next tropical or beach vacation.

1. Bright colors are a must! Anytime I travel to the Caribbean, I am always on the hunt for bright and colorful pieces. It’s reflective of the Caribbean atmosphere!! So, in my opinion, your clothes should showcase that. Not to mention that you are surrounded by the most beautiful waters in the world! Bright blue skies and never-ending the sunshine, inspire my choices when choosing pieces for my vacation in the Caribbean.

Outfit Details:

Black top: Thrifted

Kohl’s Maxi dress: similar in a dress in color. Wear a blouse over it and it can be worn as a skirt

Style tip: Choose bold colors like yellow, turquoise, or orange. Sprinkle in some neon if you like or loud prints. When choosing pieces for your trip there is no room to be boring. BE LOUD or GO HOME!

Style tip: Can’t go wrong with accessories! This outfit would be boring without my earrings and clutch adding interest. I have styled this clutch in previous posts here.

2.   Easy Breezy pieces. The last thing you want to do when you are traveling to the Caribbean is to look stuffy. Your clothing should be able to move effortlessly on your body, just like how you feel the sea breeze spray lightly on your face. Save those tight jeans and dresses for another occasion.

Style tip: Some great pieces that I love wearing to a Caribbean destination are maxi skirts, maxi dresses. palazzo pants, or a loose-fitting jumpsuit. Something I love to do is use swimsuit cover-ups as a shirt. They are loose and pair perfectly with shorts!!

3. A nice pair of metallic sandals. Seriously these are the only shoes you need!!!! They are so versatile. You can dress them up or down and they act as a neutral so you can pair them with anything!!! It’s an island water and sand. Do you really need any other type of foot attire?? I don’t think soo.  

Here are a few tips and style ideas that you can use when planning and pack for your next Caribbean or beach vacation. To find inspiration for these trips uses mother nature to inspire your vacation wardrobe. The beautiful sunshine, crystal blue waters, and miles upon miles of white sandy beaches and palm trees.
