“How to incorporate color into your Spring wardrobe:3 easy outfits using color-blocking”

Incorporating color into your wardrobe can be intimidating. So in this post, I am going to share with you guys 3 outfits I created from my closet on how to incorporate and pair colors in your wardrobe, using color blocking. There is a fear that certain colors will look bad against your skin tone. The safest thing to do (which I always used to do) is pair colors with a neutral (ex. White, black, khaki etc.). But, that can get boring really quickly!
What is color blocking you may ask??
  • Color blocking is the use of contrasting blocks or color panels of solid, typically bright colors
Spring is all about rebirth, new life, and longer days of sunlight! This is a perfect opportunity for your wardrobe to reflect that energy and excitement that comes with this season. I struggled with trying to add color to my wardrobe, but with a little bit of research and trial and error, I realized pairing solid colors together really add life to your wardrobe. These are some of my got to color combinations and hopefully, this inspires you to experiment with color in your own closet.
Outfit #1 Color block red and blue
This color combo makes you want to start singing the “Star Spangled Banner”. The colors scream patriotic, but are easy to throw together and are not too loud making this combo great for beginners.

Outfit #2 Color block  Mint green and coral. Such a great outfit for spring. The mint green blouse is softer and cooler in tone, which allows the pants to really pop against it!!!! These colors are great for Easter!!

Style Tip: If you are having trouble pairing colors together use the color wheel. I love to refer to it sometimes to see what colors are complimentary. This helped me in the beginning when I was starting to experiment with colors. Also look all around you, you will be surprised at how mother nature has color schemes. Take a note from that as well!!
