17 Jan “3 easy looks on winter whites”
“Walking in a winter Wonderland” Well not exactly here in Houston, but I am sure in other parts of the world!! Ready to attack and kick start 2017 with a vengeance!!. You guys have heard that saying “Winter Whites?” Well, I am here to tell you, you can absolutely wear white during the winter and after LaborDay!! No rules apply to fashion or style!! Dress how you wanna dress!! I decided to do this post because I have heard so many women refer to the rule mentioned above and say they can’t wear white or they don’t want to wear white because it gets dirty easily, which is true, but that should not stop you from having fun with it!!! So in this post, I will show you 3 ways on how to style winter whites!
Outfit #1: Style winter whites, by going for a monochrome(same color) look on the top and bottom for a crisp and bright look. For shoes, I went with these gray wedge boots to keep the outfit muted and soft. Of course to break up the white I chose a silver statement necklace. This is a simple yet refined look. What makes this outfit is the amazing button down shirt I got from Mango’s when I was in New York a year ago. You will notice the high slits up the side and the loose fit which makes it very modern and trendy. You could easily tie a belt around the middle for a defined waist, but I preferred to keep everything loose. You could easily wear this outfit for a casual dinner or party!! (No red wine please!!)
Winter whites is a nice contrast from all the dark colors and gloom that winter has to bring. So why not literally lighten up your outfit by wearing bright whites!! There is something about wearing whites, especially in the winter that brings a crisp and clean look to your wardrobe. It is unexpected, makes a statement, and it could be just what you need to switch up your look for this winter season.
Tip: To keep your whites nice and bright, from my personal experience, using oxy clean or the arm and hammer detergent has given me the best results of getting out stains and keeping whites crisp and bright. Again from my personal experience and failed attempts, I DO NOT USE BLEACH!! Regardless what they say about using a little, it always ends up a disaster for me. If you guys know any tricks about keeping whites, white please let me know in the description box!!

Outfit #2: Styling winter whites with brown. Not what you were expecting right. You thought I was going to go for the traditional black and white?! WRONG!! Try something different and wear your whites with a hue in the brown family. This could include camel, a rich dark brown, or even a peanut butter color. The dark and light contrast compliments each other very well just as good as black and white. It’s a nice change and if you add gold with brown, it will set your outfit off!! This outfit can easily be worn to catch up with friends on the weekend or a brunch look!!

Outfit #3: Find yourself a white dress!! Just like the infamous Little Black Dress is a must have staple in every woman’s wardrobe, well meet her counterpart, the Little White dress!! Ladies, there is nothing more refined and elegant than a clean, form-fitting white dress. Instantly Michelle Obama comes to mind when she wore that beautiful white gown to the first inauguration ball and Dorothy Dandridge back in the day!! What did they have in common, their white dresses made a statement and the dresses screamed elegance!!! You guys are not going to believe where I found this gem…, Kohl’s of course in the Jennifer Lopez collection. Can we just admire the silver detail on the collar and this slit!! Oh, how I love that store. This dress is great for a formal occasion (no weddings please!!). Ladies, definitely think about owning a white dress!!
